The Eye of Mongombo (reboot) #1 is Available now!

The Eye of Mongombo was my first original comic book, and it was first published 30 years ago. It was cancelled before the story was completed (a mutual decision between me and the publisher) I had always wanted to go back to it and complete the story, but I needed to do some heavy editing to the existing material first. I didn't want to cut too much of the old gags that people liked, but needed to fix the parts that caused story problems (unresolved story elements, characters who change drastically too quickly, etc) Also, my drawing style has changed enough over the years that I knew I would have to draw the earlier chapters over again. But now I have a complete story, and have started to pull the whole thing together.

EDIT: Do NOT buy this book from Lulu.com. They redesigned their site recently and practically destroyed everything over there. I really can't tell you that you would receive a good quality book from them at this time. In the meantime, you can buy a digital copy here:

They are free to read if you subscribe to Kindle Unlimited or Comixology Unlimited!

Please enjoy the first chapter as a preview:

Old Comics: Turtle Boy in "Cirque de Soulmates"

This is an old story from a mini-comic titled My Freakish Love that I did back around 2005.

Some old Disney comics scripts...

From 2005-2009 I was working on Disney comics, something I hadn't done since the early 1990s. This time, though, I was able to work with the classic characters, not just the Disney Afternoon titles! At that time Disney comics were only being produced by the large publisher in Denmark, Egmont.

My body of work is pretty small compared to other Disney writers, so it's unlikely that many of my stories will ever be reprinted in the United States; but I was happy with how they turned out so I thought I would post a few of the script/roughs here. Egmont called these story layouts "scribbles".

Pluto in On Duty

Magica de Spell in The High Cost of Hexing

Huey, Dewey and Louie in Ready-to-Werewolf

Some Cover Recreations

I like doing these pieces for inking practice...and I need lots of practice! I especially need to make myself do more hand-lettering. Redrawing old comic book covers is a lot of fun, and I'm usually more inclined to finish. When I screw up an original practice drawing, chances are good I'll never finish it.
